At the airport gate, Neela and I looked around and could only find one person not on a phone or iPad and that included walking people. Multiple people on the plane had to be told multiple times to turn off their phones for take off as well.
Riding the subway in Shanghai, we looked around the crowded train to see a similar sight. People are playing games and watching TV shows and everything else even if only riding a few stops. Then the doors open and there is a big push between those exciting and those entering the train. Exiting, it is hard to walk as there are a lot of people going slowly because they are all looking at their phones the entire way out of the subway!
Is it genetic? Ani desperately wants to push buttons on any screen she can get her hands on, even if it is the screen belonging to the hotel concierge or the bathroom cleanliness rating screen.
